We are all together
İmmigrants and refugees scattered all over the world keep their hopes alive and reflect their hopers in their music, despite the harder living conditions in the days of Corona. They thus cry out through their songs that they are the carriers of a new world. The “Under the Same Sky” Festival wants to make these sounds common to the whole world from the south Africa to the north of Europe. In this way, it is aimed to support the integration and social cohesion efforts ot these people in the new geographies they come from.
The “Under The Same Sky” Festival, the main theme of which is new geography, new lives and new hopes, will be broadcast online on Youtube and Zoom media. Participants will be mainly amateur groups of refugees or immigrants. In addition, contribution of famous singers and music groups to the festival as guests is aimed.
The festival will start on the 27th of March 2021 at 5 PM (GMT). In addition to live presentations in Turkish and English, the broadcast stream will be enriched with three to four-minute clips explaining how the participating groups continue their musical life under refugee and immigration conditions.
Purpose of The Festival
In our festival, it is aimed to witness how and in which ways migrant musicians adapted to the shange after the corona epidemic, through their eyes and voice. We will have the opportunity to get to know them more closely in our festival, where the videos of the musicians will be shared. In the changing conditions during the corona pandemic, we will have the change to see where and how they make music with the records that will ve taken from tehir eyes.
The purpose of these performance recording. which will be specially shot for the festival; is to open the universal and non-belonging doors of music all together, beyond the soncerns of daily life, while performing the performances of immigrant musicians.
Throughout the festival, we will meet together in a place beyond boders, languages and nations on our jpurney that we will ride on the notes under te same sky, and we will sing song and dance despite the place where life is pressing us right now. Throughout the festival, we will all remember the safe emrace of life, which the music captures us in our hearts by its purest form.
“Under the Same Sky & Immigrant and Refugee music festival” aims to show us how misicians, who started a brand new life by leaving their countries and their birth places behind, are adopting completely different cultures, languages and conditions in the universality of music.
People can migrate but can music also migrate ? or does only touchus from the same sky, life the stars we see when we look at the sky?
